So what exactly depression is? Obviously there is not a proper definition to this except it can be called as a phase of extreme sadness. It is also categorized with change in emotions, feelings, behaviour etc. Some depressed people don’t feel sad at all—they may feel lifeless, empty, and apathetic, or may even feel angry, aggressive, and restless. It can be caused by several reasons, it can be a heart break, financial issues, chronic disease or a goal which someone has failed to achieve. People start to consider themselves as a burden which initially leads to death. Sounds awful but it’s true. Also depression has many types which cannot be even pronounced correctly. The list start with names like bipolar, schizophrenia etc. However, there are many things you can do to support one’s mood and reduce the risk of recurrence.
How to deal with it?
In India most of the people are not aware of depression yet this is common in many other parts of world. People consider it mostly as madness or ghost like thing. Depression sucks out the energy from one’s life. Makes the person feel regretful and guilty for rest of their life. Coming to the topic, there are several ways you can overcome it –
1. Consult a Doctor as soon as possible
2.If the person is suffering from minor depression, show him/her comfort and unconditional love. It will really help them to have their blissful life back.
All it needs is determination and hope. You only live once! Life is truly what one makes it.
